Medical institution Clinique Valmont was founded in 1905 by Henry Augustus Widmer, a connoisseur of art and a physician who openly opposed the new-fangled practices. In its early years, the clinic admitted patients mainly with diseases of the digestive tract, nutrition disorders and neurasthenia.

Quite quickly, the clinic became popular because of the combination of favorable location, accommodation in the best traditions of Swiss hotel business and modern methods of treatment, such as, for example, diet, electrotherapy, hydrotherapy, light therapy and air baths.

Of course, many famous people, known around the world, choose healthcare in Switzerland, including Leon Blum, Rainer Maria Rilke, Giovanni Giacometti, as well as the representatives of the Belgian royal family.

Despite the First World War, in the 20-s, the clinic worked very successfully; further periods of prosperity were followed by not the best times. During that period, the Golden Book got the autographs of such celebrities as Claudia Cardinale, Marcel Pagnol, Louis Aragon, Coco Chanel, Placido Domingo and many other famous people.

In the 80-s, Clinique Valmont became the first Swiss clinic specializing exclusively in aesthetic medicine, until in 1993 its specialists returned to rehabilitation again.

Today, Clinique Valmont offers orthopedic and neurological rehabilitation procedures.
