The main clinical priorities include minimally invasive surgery, neonatology, oncology, urology and thoracic surgery. Here are performed about 2,000 operations every year, including more than 200 extensive and minimally invasive thoracoscopic and laparoscopic procedures. The department has 36 beds for children and 15 beds for their parents.

The Department of Nuclear Medicine is one of the few centers in which nuclear medicine originated in Germany. The department offers the whole spectrum of modern nuclear medicine and, in particular, specializes in scintigraphy, PET-CT, radioiodine therapy, special types of radionuclide therapy for oncological diseases, treatment of benign and malignant thyroid diseases.

The Department of Radiation Therapy and Special Oncology is the only center in the region where the full spectrum of modern high-precision radiation is offered, including all methods of radiation with electrons and photons (3D conformal radiation, intensity-modulated radiotherapy, imaging-guided radiation therapy, stereotaxia of the head and of the whole body, brachytherapy (also with IMRT and the possibility of the whole body radiation). Both high professionalism and state-of-the-art medical equipment ensure optimal treatment results.
