About us Klinik Birshof
Some prefer to solve their health problems and receive healthcare abroad, for example, in Switzerland. Since 2002, Swiss hospital Klinik Birshof belongs to Hirslanden, the first group of private healthcare facilities in Switzerland. The merger of the former private hospitals of the country has given important impetus to the Swiss healthcare system and indicated the further direction to move into the future. Modern healthcare has become so complex that individual initiatives have now become pointless. Anyone who wants to provide medical services at the highest level should be able to work interdisciplinary and use efforts in an optimum way. Hirslanden is managed on private economic principles. The success of this group of private healthcare facilities is based on high motivation, flexibility and transparency, as well as on lifelong education, professional development of staff, and active exchange of experience and skills.
About the city
Swiss cities are famous all over the world with their unique nature and tourist attractions. One of these cities is Basel. It is a big city, a political community and a capital of the canton of Basel-Stadt, together with village communities Riehen and Bettingen. Basel is the third largest city in Switzerland after Zurich and Geneva. It is located on the border of three countries: Switzerland, Germany, and France. While the population of Basel amounts to about 173,000 people, its trinational agglomeration is home to about 830,000 people. Basel consists of Grossbasel on the left bank (south-west) of the Rhine and Kleinbasel (including the former fishing village of Kleinhüningen) on the right bank of the Rhine. Center of Basel is the old town in the Grossbasel around the market square, where you can also find a city hall (its construction started in 1504) and the cathedral hill with a terrace of a medieval castle towering over the Rhine. Middle Bridge unites the old town on both banks of the Rhine. In some parts of the city, road traffic is restricted, so you can get around using a tram. "Art Basel", one of the most important exhibitions in the world of art, is held in Basel annually. Another famous attraction is Basel zoo, called "Zolli", which was the first zoo in Switzerland
