Location

Leverkusen is an industrial city in Germany, located in North Rhine-Westphalia, on the Rhine River. The pride of the city is one of 40 Japanese gardens, which are located in Germany. Leverkusen is famous for the fact that the headquarters of Bayer Pharmaceuticals and a football club with the same name are located here.

The Opladen district houses many interesting historical sights. One of the most famous architectural monument is the beautiful Villa Roemer, which was built in the Middle Ages. Nowadays, the historical district is mostly inhabited by locals who continue to live in beautiful houses, which were built 300-400 years ago.

The most important religious symbol of the city is the Protestant Church of Christ Konig. Its construction began in 1904 and lasted two years. The height of the church is more than 14 meters, while its high tower can be seen from many city streets. The temple impresses with its sophisticated exterior and beautiful interior furnishing.

Once in Leverkusen, one should definitely visit the Morsbroich Museum, which is an art museum opened in 1951. It became the first museum of modern art, which was opened in Germany after the end of World War II. The museum is located in the eponymous Baroque palace, which is an architectural monument. The collection includes about 400 paintings and sculptures, some of which are located in the palace park, as well as almost 5,000 paintings and etchings.
