The Department of General, Visceral, Vascular and Transplant Surgery covers the entire range of general and visceral surgery including all organ transplantations as well as vascular and thoracic surgery. The chief physician of the department is Prof. Dr. med. Jens Werner.

Being one of the largest surgical university hospitals, the department offers the entire operative range of the disciplines and specific disciplines mentioned at the highest level. Regarding the number of operations performed and the achievements especially in oncological surgery, transplantation surgery and minimally invasive techniques, the department is one of the leading surgical leading surgical institutions.

The Department of General, Visceral, Vascular and Transplant Surgery at the University Hospital of Munich, under the direction of Prof. Dr. med. Jens Werner, offers the following range of services:
