The Department of Neurology at the University Hospital Aachen under the direction of Prof. Dr. med. Jörg B. Schulz offers treatment of all diseases of the neurological area for adult patients as well as a cross-regional medical care for acutely ill patients.  The Department of Neurology includes Intensive Care Unit and Stroke Unit for the emergency as well as the Neuropsychological Therapy Center for the patients with sequelae after stroke, particularly aphasia.

Another focus of the Department of Neurology at the University Hospital Aachen under the direction of Prof. Dr. med. Jörg B. Schulz is the diagnosis of neurological sleep disorders in the sleep laboratory and their treatment. The Department is a regional center in the network of Parkinson’s disease treatment and the European Huntington`s Disease Network. Another special feature of the treatment is deep brain stimulation (“brain stimulators”) of the progressing motor disorders, such as Parkinson’s disease and tremor. 

Being integrated into the Center of Rare Diseases Aachen (ZSEA), the Department of Neurology at the University Hospital Aachen under the direction of Prof. Dr. med. Jörg B. Schulz makes a great contribution in the treatment of rare movement disorders, neuromuscular diseases, disorders of the autonomic nervous system and spinal vascular diseases within the Center of Rare Diseases Aachen (ZSEA).

Accommodation in hospital

Patients rooms

The kid rooms have everything needed for a comfortable stay. The kid bathroom includes both a toilet and a shower. All rooms offer functional beds with orthopaedic mattresses ensuring unsurpassed support for overall body during sleep. There are bedside stands with pull-out tables, lockers and safe boxes in each room. It is also possible to access the Internet from a PC, smartphone or tablet so that kids always keep in touch with their parents and other family members. There is also a TV in each room.
You can opt for a single or a double room. An accompanying person may stay with the kid in the room. A double room is shared with another patient.
The enhanced comfort rooms are equipped with a safety box, a fridge and upholstered furniture.

Meals and Menus

The patient and the accompanying person are offered a daily choice of three menus. If you are on a specific diet for any reason, you will be offered an individual menu. Please inform the medical staff about your dietary preferences prior to the treatment.
