The Department of Neurosurgery can treat neurological, neuropediatric and orbital diseases or relieve the illness through operations. Such diseases include cerebral hemorrhage, brain tumors, orbital tumors, tumors and malformations of children, herniated discs, spinal canal stenosis and spinal cord tumors. The Department of Neurosurgery in the Sana Kliniken Duisburg is one of the largest neurosurgical departments in Germany and has many years of experience in all areas of microsurgery and neuroendoscopy.

The purpose and ultimate goal of all employees of the department is to provide patients with the best therapy at all time.

The department is responsible for the medical service of the city Duisburg, the whole Lower Rhine and western Ruhr. In order to ensure the patient care in the same quality, the department makes full use of the infrastructure of the hospital and works closely with other departments together.
