The Department of Internal Medicine III - Oncology/Hematology is responsible for treating cancers and diseases of blood and blood-forming organs. The department follows the guiding principle of patient-centered medicine. That means that all the staff always pay attention to the life-quality of the patients.

In the field of Hematology/Oncology, all modern diagnostic measures are available. These include computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, bone scan, bone marrow aspiration, sonography, endoscopy of lung and gastrointestinal tract including endosonography-guided punctures in lungs and upper abdomen (in cooperation with relevant departments). All therapeutic methods are also available, such as chemotherapy, immunotherapy, antibody treatment, nutritional countseling and therapy as well as alternative relaxation therapy.
