From Struggle to Hope
For years, Francis Bekele from Ghana struggled with shortness of breath, exhaustion, and a constant feeling that his body was failing him. Once an active employee in a mining company, he suddenly found himself unable to walk even short distances without gasping for air. "I couldn't breathe well. Even doing a little bit of work made me so tired," he recalls. "Sometimes they had to put me on oxygen. I was admitted to the hospital five or six times."
Despite repeated hospitalizations and treatments in his home country, his condition – later identified as pulmonary fibrosis – kept worsening. "In Ghana, they tried their best, but it was like guessing," he says. "At first, they said it was pneumonia, then something with my ribs. The medications didn't help. I lost hope."
That hope was rekindled thanks to a close friend from the UK, who introduced Francis to Booking Health.

"When I arrived in Germany, everything changed," Francis says. "They took me to the laboratory for tests. The doctors explained everything clearly – what was wrong with me and what could be done. For the first time, I understood my condition."

After completing dendritic cell therapy and returning home to Ghana, Francis noticed great improvements. "I can say I'm 80 to 90% well now," he shares proudly. "Before, I couldn't walk even a short distance. Now, I can go to work, do everything I need to do, and live normally."
His breathing has improved significantly. "I no longer need oxygen. I can walk long distances without feeling tired. The difference is amazing."
The experience, he says, transformed not only his health but also his mindset: "It is better to know what is wrong with you and look for a solution than to keep trying medicines blindly. In Germany, they found exactly what was wrong and treated it."
