If the relatively strict indication criteria for radiosurgery are meet, the tumours will be highly treatable with the Cyberknife therapy. The tumours should not be too large and must have clear boundaries etc. In these cases, the CyberKnife technology can be used as an alternative of the surgery or radiation therapy, which can several weeks last. With the medical high technology of Cyberknife system, very irregular tumours in sensitive areas of the brain such as the visual or auditory nerve can also be handled without injury.

The European Cyberknife Centre Munich-Grosshadern is an internationally renowned institution of radiosurgery. As the first Cyberknife Centre in Deutschland, it was opened in cooperation with the University of Munich (LUM) on 1. July 2005. With the development of the Cyberknife technology, a completely new and non-invasive tumor treatment has become possible.

The most advanced M6 Cyberknife device has been in operation for three years. With the latest multileaf InCise 2, the Munich Centre can treat a wide range of tumours in the head or body. Meanwhile nearly 6,000 Cyberknife have been successfully carried out here.  If the indication criteria for a CyberKnife therapy is met, the treatment offers numerous advantages for the patients:

Accommodation in hospital

Patients rooms

The kid rooms have everything needed for a comfortable stay. The kid bathroom includes both a toilet and a shower. All rooms offer functional beds with orthopaedic mattresses ensuring unsurpassed support for overall body during sleep. There are bedside stands with pull-out tables, lockers and safe boxes in each room. It is also possible to access the Internet from a PC, smartphone or tablet so that kids always keep in touch with their parents and other family members. There is also a TV in each room.
You can opt for a single or a double room. An accompanying person may stay with the kid in the room. A double room is shared with another patient.
The enhanced comfort rooms are equipped with a safety box, a fridge and upholstered furniture.

Meals and Menus

The patient and the accompanying person are offered a daily choice of three menus. If you are on a specific diet for any reason, you will be offered an individual menu. Please inform the medical staff about your dietary preferences prior to the treatment.
