The Department has a special competence in the treatment of benign and malignant tumors in the head and neck. As a rule, surgery is the first option for the treatment of malignancies. Cancer treatment involves the use of the very latest surgical techniques, such as laser therapy. Reconstructive surgery, which is another priority of the University Hospital Giessen, also plays an important role in the preservation of function and patient’s recovery.
