About the department keyboard_arrow_down

The department is one of the largest centers among German university clinics of accidental surgery. As a center of supra-regional importance, the department helps 2300 patients in stationary mode and 22000 outpatients every year. The department is focused on optimal trauma treatment and treatment of musculoskeletal diseases.

The team consists 9 senior physicians, 12 assistants and 40 nurses. Patients can stay in two standard inpatient department or in one intensive care unit.

About hospital

Gießen is an old university town 30 km far from Marburg, where in 1607 the Ludwig University was situated, and where can be found the oldest German botanic garden. This is also the city where stands a monument to x-rays.

Gießen is situated 30 km away from Marburg. Today, Giessen and Marburg are not only historical culture centers, but also cities with effective, modern hospital system based on medical University, which is well known both in Germany and abroad.

Accommodation in hospital

Patients rooms

The kid rooms have everything needed for a comfortable stay. The kid bathroom includes both a toilet and a shower. All rooms offer functional beds with orthopaedic mattresses ensuring unsurpassed support for overall body during sleep. There are bedside stands with pull-out tables, lockers and safe boxes in each room. It is also possible to access the Internet from a PC, smartphone or tablet so that kids always keep in touch with their parents and other family members. There is also a TV in each room.
You can opt for a single or a double room. An accompanying person may stay with the kid in the room. A double room is shared with another patient.
The enhanced comfort rooms are equipped with a safety box, a fridge and upholstered furniture.

Meals and Menus

The patient and the accompanying person are offered a daily choice of three menus. If you are on a specific diet for any reason, you will be offered an individual menu. Please inform the medical staff about your dietary preferences prior to the treatment.
