Personal care, safety for parents and children are the first concern of the clinic for obstetrics and prenatal medicine. The obstetricians extend the services with an innovative, personal care concept. For healthy pregnant women, it is possible to be taken care of by a qualified midwife team during pregnancy, under the delivery and after delivery.
Together with the neonatal department the clinic for Obstetrics and Prenatal Medicine makes up the Perinatal Centre of the highest level. Obstetric doctors, neonatologists and anesthesiologists are in attendance. Close cooperation also exist with the pediatric surgery, pediatric, children nephrology, gynecology and other related departments. The psychosocial countseling is always available when needed. In addition, the department is a national center for prenatal medicine at the highest level. All methods of prenatal diagnosis and all possibilities of intrauterine treatment such as umbilical cord transfusion, and fetoscopic procedures (with laser) are carried out in close cooperation with the DZFT (German Center for Fetal Surgery and minimally invasive therapy).
Bonn University Clinic is a multidisciplinary health care institution which is one of the largest in Germany. The clinic provides treatment both for patients from Germany, and for foreign ones. Diagnosis and treatment of patients here is at the highest level, and their combination with the latest scientific research allows quickly implement all the innovations to the clinical practice. In the clinic, there are 10 intensive care units and 30 operating theaters for all surgery directions. The capacity of the clinic – 1,250 beds. More than 40,000 patients undergo inpatient treatment annually; about 1,500 people visit the outpatient departments every day.
Accommodation in hospital
The kid rooms have everything needed for a comfortable stay. The kid bathroom includes both a toilet and a shower. All rooms offer functional beds with orthopaedic mattresses ensuring unsurpassed support for overall body during sleep. There are bedside stands with pull-out tables, lockers and safe boxes in each room. It is also possible to access the Internet from a PC, smartphone or tablet so that kids always keep in touch with their parents and other family members. There is also a TV in each room.
You can opt for a single or a double room. An accompanying person may stay with the kid in the room. A double room is shared with another patient.
The enhanced comfort rooms are equipped with a safety box, a fridge and upholstered furniture.
Meals and Menus
The patient and the accompanying person are offered a daily choice of three menus. If you are on a specific diet for any reason, you will be offered an individual menu. Please inform the medical staff about your dietary preferences prior to the treatment.

Christian priests are available for the patients at any time. Representatives of other religions may be requested at any time.
Your companion may stay with you in your room or at a hotel of your choice during the fixed program.
