The Department of Cardiology and Angioly at the University Hospital Charité Campus in Berlin treats patients with cardiac and angiological diseases. It is located at the Charité Mitte. The department provides the services of functional diagnosis, cardiac catheterization laboratory, electrophysiology, sleep medicine and telemedicine. Acting Director of the Department - Prof. Dr. med. Karl Stangl.

The department has focused its activities mainly on improving the pumping strength in case of heart failure, performing neurostimulation in order to relieve intractable angina and improving the heart pumping function via biventricular pacing (CRT) in cases of heart failure. The angiological procedures include the diagnosis and treatment of common vascular diseases (i.e. diseases of veins, lymphatic vessels and arteries), circulatory disorders and high blood pressure. 

The Department of Cardiology and Angioly, headed by Prof. Dr. med. Karl Stangl, also houses the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory. The following services are provided here: the comprehensive diagnosis and treatment in the field of coronary angiography (imaging of the coronary arteries), i.e., percutaneous aortic valve replacement, percutaneous mitral valve repair, percutaneous pulmonary valve, renal ablation and atrial appendage closure.
