About the Department of Pediatric Oncology and Hematology at Charite University Hospital Berlin

The Department of Pediatric Oncology and Hematology at the Charite University Hospital Berlin offers the full range of diagnostics and treatment in its fields of competence. The department is headed by Prof. Dr. med. Angelika Eggert.

The department's doctors specialize in the treatment of malignant diseases of the hematopoietic system, benign and malignant tumors, congenital or acquired benign blood diseases and blood-clotting disorders (sickle cell anemia, thalassemia, hemophilia). The priority focus of the department's work is stem cell transplantation (about 50 transplantations annually). Since 2017, the department has been certified as a specialized Cancer Center, which indicates the outstanding quality of medical service.

All therapeutic activities in the department meet the requirements of the Society of Pediatric Oncology and Hematology, as well as other international societies in the field of pediatric oncology.
