The Department of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery of the University Hospital Cologne under the direction of Univ.-Prof. Dr. Karl-Bernd Hüttenbrink provides the full range of diagnostic and therapeutic services in the field of otolaryngology, comprising head and neck surgery, plastic surgery, disorders of the vocal cords and voice, including logopedics and allergology. The Department deals with the academic tasks, involving inpatient care, teaching and academic science. Structurally, the department is divided into an outpatient center, an inpatient center and a surgery center. All the centers are located in the building 23 within the University Hospital Cologne.

The Department of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery of the University Hospital Cologne in Germany, headed by Univ.-Prof. Dr. Karl-Bernd Hüttenbrink, has 5 state-of-the-art operating rooms. The operations can be performed with the use of local and general anesthesia. The Department cooperates with the specially trained anesthesiologists for this purpose. Every operating room of the Department has an operating microscope. Furthermore, laser equipment can be used in every operating room as well as there can be carried out the endoscopic surgery with a display on the computer screen. It is possible to receive the digital display of the patient data as well as his X-ray images, MRI and CT results in every operating room.

The priority areas of the Department of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery of the University Hospital Cologne in Germany, headed by Univ.-Prof. Dr. Karl-Bernd Hüttenbrink, are:

Patients rooms

The kid rooms have everything needed for a comfortable stay. The kid bathroom includes both a toilet and a shower. All rooms offer functional beds with orthopaedic mattresses ensuring unsurpassed support for overall body during sleep. There are bedside stands with pull-out tables, lockers and safe boxes in each room. It is also possible to access the Internet from a PC, smartphone or tablet so that kids always keep in touch with their parents and other family members. There is also a TV in each room.
You can opt for a single or a double room. An accompanying person may stay with the kid in the room. A double room is shared with another patient.
The enhanced comfort rooms are equipped with a safety box, a fridge and upholstered furniture.

Meals and Menus

The patient and the accompanying person are offered a daily choice of three menus. If you are on a specific diet for any reason, you will be offered an individual menu. Please inform the medical staff about your dietary preferences prior to the treatment.
