About the department keyboard_arrow_down

The clinic conducts diagnostics and treatment for patients with hematopoietic system disorders, including a number of acute and chronic leukemias and malignant lymphomas, as well as malignant tumors, if they need chemotherapy or other systemic treatments. The core task is professional and competent nursing. Still, the clinic develops the best practices for treatment and makes an international contribution to the clinical and experimental cancer studies. Student training and in-depth training of physicians, nurses and medical staff is an integral part of the work.

All systemic therapy, including autologous and allogeneic bone marrow or blood stem cell transplantation, as well as antibody therapy can be performed there. Besides hospital beds, the clinic comprises a specialized outpatient clinic for patients who underwent allogeneic transplantation and a therapeutic outpatient facility for chemotherapy in the outpatient setting and injections, as well as diagnostic laboratories.

It also serves the patients with the other neoplastic diseases of all kinds, when a systemic therapy is required, particularly for the purpose of relieving pain. Certainly, the optimal treatment strategy is determined by the interdisciplinary board with surgical disciplines, radiation therapy, and, possibly, other disciplines.
