Neurological Clinic at Erlangen University Clinic is one of the largest in Germany. Every year, the clinic treats more than 3,500 inpatients and more than 7,000 outpatients. The clinic works in close cooperation with the neurosurgical clinic and neuroradiology department. The clinic has a special department for stroke treatment, which is the largest of its kind in Bavaria and one of the largest in Germany. In addition, the clinic has a highly effective neurological intensive care unit for treatment of critically ill patients.

Another prominent institution is epilepsy center (EC). All these units are combined in a Neurological Clinic and allow to treat all diseases within its profile competently and in accordance with the latest scientific achievements. Neurological Clinic has special departments for treatment of multiple sclerosis and neuroimmunologic disorders, epilepsy, movement disorders, dementia, neuromuscular diseases, neoplastic diseases of the nervous system (neurooncology) and neurovascular disorders. In 2008, our clinic opened a new department of molecular neurology, which combines high-quality fundamental research with clinical expertise and patient care at the highest level. As for treatment of multiple sclerosis and Parkinson disease, the Neurological Clinic is recommended in the list of top hospitals compiled by FOCUS.
