The Department of Urology and Pediatric Urology at the University Hospital Frankfurt is a distinguished institution in this field of medicine. The Department under the direction of Prof. Dr. med. W. O. Bechstein specializes in urological tumor diseases, endourology with modern kidney stone therapy, treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia and reconstructive urology with a unit for diversion, treatment of incontinence, urethral surgery and prosthetics. There are used minimally invasive surgical techniques, such as DaVinci technology or other laparoscopic surgical techniques (“keyhole surgery”).

The Department of Urology and Pediatric Urology at the University Hospital Frankfurt – as the Department of maximal care – can offer patients the whole range of urological treatment options at the highest level. Due to an intensive collaboration with other departments of the University Hospital Frankfurt, especially with the Department of the Surgery Center, Nephrology, Radiation Therapy and Oncology, there are available optimal conditions for the treatment of seriously ill patients.

About hospital

The University Hospital Frankfurt is a part of the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University Frankfurt am Main. The hospital with rich traditions was founded in 1914 and is a famous one in Germany. Annually about 50,000 inpatients and 220,000 outpatients are treated in this hospital. Patients rooms

The kid rooms have everything needed for a comfortable stay. The kid bathroom includes both a toilet and a shower. All rooms offer functional beds with orthopaedic mattresses ensuring unsurpassed support for overall body during sleep. There are bedside stands with pull-out tables, lockers and safe boxes in each room. It is also possible to access the Internet from a PC, smartphone or tablet so that kids always keep in touch with their parents and other family members. There is also a TV in each room.
You can opt for a single or a double room. An accompanying person may stay with the kid in the room. A double room is shared with another patient.
The enhanced comfort rooms are equipped with a safety box, a fridge and upholstered furniture.

Meals and Menus

The patient and the accompanying person are offered a daily choice of three menus. If you are on a specific diet for any reason, you will be offered an individual menu. Please inform the medical staff about your dietary preferences prior to the treatment.
