The Department of Otolaryngology at the University Hospital Frankfurt covers the entire spectrum of modern otolaryngology. The head of the Department is Prof. Dr. med. Timo Stöver. The focuses are diagnosis and treatment of hearing impaired and deaf children and adults. As one of the first institutions in this field, the Department supervises the biggest program of cochlear implants in Rhein-Main region and ranks among the leading German Hsopitals.

Other focuses of otolaryngology at the University Hospital Frankfurt include treatment of head and neck tumors. The treatment concept lies in multidisciplinary cancer management that follows all current recommendations. In view of this the Department under the direction of Prof. Dr. med. Timo Stöver maintains close cooperation with other departments and is a part of the University Cancer Center (UCT). The doctors of the Department have an advanced experience and expert knowledge in the field of function sparing organs, minimally invasive methods, laser surgery as well as plastic reconstructive surgery. The Department of ultimate care has a quality management system certified according to DIN ISO 9001:2008.
