Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the University Hospital of Halle (Saale) offers a full range of the most advanced diagnostic and therapeutic opportunities in the field of gastroenterology. Special core activities are a diagnostic and interventional endoscopy, gastroenterology oncology (tumor diseases), hepatology (liver disease), diseases of the pancreas and chronic inflammatory bowel disease.

In the area of ​​pneumology, the clinic provides all diagnostic and therapeutic oportunities without exception. Regarding the servicing of patients, the main activity is pneumological oncology, including all bronchoscopic surgical techniques, treatment of obstructive pulmonary diseases (asthma/COPD), including lung emphysema, pulmonary hypertension, cystic fibrosis and interstitial lung disease. Besides, the department of pneumology assesses the condition before and provides care after the lung transplantation. Also, the clinic is largely engaged in sports medicine.
