About the department keyboard_arrow_down

The Department of Gynecologic Endocrinology and Reproductive Health at the Heidelberg University Hospital provides medical care for hormonal disorders and infertility. The chief physician of the Department is Prof. Dr. Thomas Strowitzki. The Department specializes in surgery to restore reproductive functions, in particular minimally invasive endoscopic methods, such as treatment of tubal occlusion, fibroids (benign tumors) or endometrioses (benign formations).

As for surgical treatment, a special attention is paid to endoscopic surgery for treating fertility disorders. It should be noted that the treatment of women with fibroids, who want to have a child, differs from the standard treatment of fibroids and must include a variety of factors. Therefore, within the Department of Gynecologic Endocrinology and Reproductive Health at the Heidelberg University Hospital was established the outpatient unit for the treatment of fibroids, especially for the patients with fibroids, who want to have children.
