The Breast Center at the Heidelberg University Hospital offers to female (and male) patients a comprehensive treatment of breast diseases. The director of the Center is Prof. Dr. med. Florian Schütz. A highly qualified team of doctors of the Center provides treatment to about 600 patients with breast cancer every year. As one of the biggest breast centers in Germany, the Center is of supraregional significance and receives patients from all parts of Germany.

The diagnosis of breast diseases in the Breast Center involves cutting-edge techniques. There are used various treatment options while treating breast cancer. They are aimed at achieving the best effect with minimal side effects and providing of the best quality of life for every patient. 

In order to provide a comprehensive, interdisciplinary treatment, the Breast Center maintains an intensive cooperation with the units of the Department of Gynecology at the university, especially with the Department of Senology and Gynecological Oncology.  Furthermore, there are regular counsels for discussing oncology issues, where every patient is discussed in order to receive an optimal treatment plan.

Accommodation in hospital

Patients rooms

The kid rooms have everything needed for a comfortable stay. The kid bathroom includes both a toilet and a shower. All rooms offer functional beds with orthopaedic mattresses ensuring unsurpassed support for overall body during sleep. There are bedside stands with pull-out tables, lockers and safe boxes in each room. It is also possible to access the Internet from a PC, smartphone or tablet so that kids always keep in touch with their parents and other family members. There is also a TV in each room.
You can opt for a single or a double room. An accompanying person may stay with the kid in the room. A double room is shared with another patient.
The enhanced comfort rooms are equipped with a safety box, a fridge and upholstered furniture.

Meals and Menus

The patient and the accompanying person are offered a daily choice of three menus. If you are on a specific diet for any reason, you will be offered an individual menu. Please inform the medical staff about your dietary preferences prior to the treatment.
