The Department of Nephrology is an acute hospital for renal diseases with a broad range of diagnostic and therapeutic services. A highly qualified team of about 180 employees cares for the well-being and health of approximately 1,700 inpatients and 8,000 outpatients every year.

The Department of Nephrology – in cooperation with the Department of Surgery – has performed more than 2,000 kidney transplants so far. Thanks to its outstanding achievements in the field of kidney transplantation, peritoneal dialysis, acute renal failure and diabetic nephropathy, the department enjoys an excellent international reputation.
