The Department of Urology at the University Hospital Jena, under the lead of Prof. Dr. med. Marc-Oliver Grimm, offers the entire spectrum of highly qualified procedures for diagnosis and treatment of all diseases associated with urology. The main focus of the clinical work is in the area of tumor diseases of the urogenital tract, kidney transplantation, urinary stones, prostate diseases, treatment of the urinary incontinence/ neurourology. The Department of Urology at the University Hospital Jena was first certified as the Center for Prostate Cancer in 2010 (successful recertification in 2014).

The Kidney Transplant Center, established in 1991, has developed into the biggest program of the new German states outside of Berlin. Because of a close cooperation between departments of nephrology and urology, also involving anesthesiological, immunological and clinical-chemical facilities, the Center offers the best conditions possible for a highly qualified care of patients.
