The Department of Cardiology, Angiology, Pulmonology and Intensive Care at the University Hospital in Jena, headed by Prof. Dr. med. P. The department has been certified according to DIN EN ISO 9001 since May 2001, and follows the quality management system of the University Hospital Jena since June 2013. The Department of Cardiology, Angiology, Pulmonology and Intensive Care at the University Hospital in Jena, under the direction of Prof. Dr. med. P. Christian Schulze, offers the full range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in the care of cardiology patients. Medical services offered by the department include, inter alia, implantation of percutaneous valves (aortic, pulmonary) performed in the own hybrid ORs in collaboration with specialists in cardiac surgery, endomyocardial biopsy, valvuloplasty of aortic valve with the use of a heart-lung machine and heart support systems, lung transplantation, implantation and replacement of pacemakers and implantable defibrillators (ICD), cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) for heart failure.

The Department of Cardiology, Angiology, Pulmonology and Intensive Care at the University Hospital in Jena, under the lead of Prof. Dr. med. P. Christian Schulze, treats the entire range of diseases associated with internal medicine, including patients with cardiogenic shock, decompensated congestive heart failure, life-threatening arrhythmias, respiratory failure, regardless of its cause, septic shock, acute renal failure, gastrointestinal hemorrhage, acute liver failure, post-cardiopulmonary resuscitation, complications of oncological diseases, as well as rheumatic and endocrine diseases.

In the field of pulmonology at the Department of Cardiology, Angiology, Pulmonology and Intensive Care at the University Hospital in Jena, a particular emphasis is on diagnosis and treatment of diseases of lungs and pleura, obstructive diseases (asthma, chronic obstructive bronchitis), inflammatory and autoimmune interstitial lung diseases (pulmonary fibrosis of various etiologies), and lung cancer. Patients with advanced lung diseases can receive a comprehensive treatment on an inpatient basis by means of non-invasive mechanical ventilation.

The Division of Angiology at the Department of Cardiology, Angiology, Pulmonology and Intensive Care at the University Hospital in Jena focuses on the care of patients during interventional catheter therapy of extracardiac artery diseases. Patients rooms

The kid rooms have everything needed for a comfortable stay. The kid bathroom includes both a toilet and a shower. All rooms offer functional beds with orthopaedic mattresses ensuring unsurpassed support for overall body during sleep. There are bedside stands with pull-out tables, lockers and safe boxes in each room. It is also possible to access the Internet from a PC, smartphone or tablet so that kids always keep in touch with their parents and other family members. There is also a TV in each room.
You can opt for a single or a double room. An accompanying person may stay with the kid in the room. A double room is shared with another patient.
The enhanced comfort rooms are equipped with a safety box, a fridge and upholstered furniture.

Meals and Menus

The patient and the accompanying person are offered a daily choice of three menus. If you are on a specific diet for any reason, you will be offered an individual menu. Please inform the medical staff about your dietary preferences prior to the treatment.
