The Department of Pediatric Orthopedics, Reconstruction of Malformations and Foot Surgery at the University Hospital Münster treats both children and adults. Pediatric orthopedics mostly deals with the treatment of hip joints, foot malformations and congenital hand and feet malformations. The Department annually treats 5,000 patients. With annual 2,000 sonographic examinations of the hip, the Department is a leading specialized center of North Rhine-Westphalia. The chief physician of the Department is Prof. Dr. med. Robert Rödl.

Other key focuses of the Department of Pediatric Orthopedics, Reconstruction of Malformations and Foot Surgery at the University Hospital Münster include orthopedic aspects of rare diseases. Through a close cooperation with the Departments of Pediatric Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, Pediatric Cardiology, Pediatric Surgery and Human Genetics, a team of doctors under the direction of Prof. Dr. med.
