The Department of Medicine II at the University Hospital of Würzburg treats patients with hematologic / oncologic, gastrointestinal and rheumatologic/immunological clinical pictures on both inpatient and outpatient basis. The director of the Department is Prof. Dr. med. Hermann Einsele. 

In March 2005, there was founded a new Stem Cell Transplant Center at the University Hospital Würzburg. The therapeutic outpatient clinic carries out chemo-, immune-, and antibody therapies every day. 

Moreover, the University Hospital of Würzburg has special sections for the treatment of patients with severe infections. The treatment of inpatients and outpatients with psychosomatic diseases is carried out in the newly created day clinic for psychosomatic diseases. The Department of Psychosomatics also provides psychological oncological care to the patients of the Department. 

The main clinical focuses of the Department of Medicine II at the University Hospital of Würzburg under the direction of Prof. Dr. med. Hermann Einsele include:

  • Interdisciplinary diagnosis and treatment of cancer
  • Diagnosis and treatment of hematological diseases
