The Department of Ophthalmology of Uniklinikum Tübingen was built in 1909 and since 1994 rebuilt and modernized. It has now 75 beds in four stations. Four modern operating rooms are available for eye-operations. Nearly 6,000 patients can be stationary treated in the Department of Ophthalmology every year. Another focus of the department is the ambulances and special ambulances. 60,000 patients are provided with the outpatient service every year.

The Department of Ophthalmology offers with maximum care diagnosis and treatment of diseases of eye, ocular adnexal, optic nerve and visual pathway. The department is equipped with modern diagnostic and surgical equipment, and has the possibility of a multidisciplinary collaboration with experts of internal medicine, neurology, neurosurgery, neuroradiology, radiotherapy, pediatrics, dermatology, otolaryngology, oral and maxillofacial surgery and with interdisciplinary clinics for rheumatology / immunology / uveitis and for orbita diseases. Main focus of the Department of Ophthalmology includes ablation surgery, treatment of intraocular tumors, glaucoma surgery, corneal transplantation, pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus, complex trauma surgery, eyelid and orbital surgery, macular surgery and lacrimal duct surgery.

The kid rooms have everything needed for a comfortable stay. The kid bathroom includes both a toilet and a shower. All rooms offer functional beds with orthopaedic mattresses ensuring unsurpassed support for overall body during sleep. There are bedside stands with pull-out tables, lockers and safe boxes in each room. It is also possible to access the Internet from a PC, smartphone or tablet so that kids always keep in touch with their parents and other family members. There is also a TV in each room.
You can opt for a single or a double room. An accompanying person may stay with the kid in the room. A double room is shared with another patient.
