The University Clinic of Dermatology and Allergology at Ulm University Clinic has 35 hospital and 14 outpatient beds. Dermatology and allergology, in their clinical claims, as well as in research and development over the past 15 years, have undergone fundamental changes and turned into a modern medical discipline for treatment of often critically ill patients receiving the causal treatment using differentiated topical and/or systemic treatment methods.

The clinic is a certified center of GA2LEN (Global Allergy & Asthma European Network). On the one hand, it points to one of the highest standards in patient care at the University Clinic, and, on the other hand, to a high scientific level, which is also a prerequisite for access to international research and educational programs at the level of EU requirements. In 2009, a dermatological and oncological center of Ulm was established, having a certification according to the directives of the German Cancer Society and DIN EN ISO 9001:2008 since March 2010. The purpose of the center is interdisciplinary treatment of skin tumors in accordance with the guidelines and the latest scientific knowledge. Due to the histological examination of tissue samples in dermatology, computer photo documentation, as well as more advanced diagnostics (the latter in collaboration with the radiology), nuclear medicine and other special subjects in the center of tumors guarantee a detailed diagnostics of skin tumors. In order to provide a unified approach to patients in the treatment and follow-up care, the skin-cancer center works closely with doctors in private practice and takes care of the social and psychological needs of cancer patients in conjunction with the social advisory service, adaptation service and psychosomatic countseling of the clinic.
