Since its opening, the ophthalmology clinic at Ulm University Clinic and the whole team of its doctors are continuously focusing their efforts on the optimal treatment of patients. As a university clinic, it is committed to continuous updating and improvement of services offered in accordance with the latest word in science and technology through continuous investments.

Ophthalmology Clinic with its 55 beds in the clinic serves about 3,500 clinic patients per year and about 20,000 outpatients. The Ophthalmology Clinic covers the entire range of services, both operational and conservative treatment, for eye diseases. The main objectives of the clinic in the operational plan is cataract surgery, refractive surgery technique for PRK, LASEK, Epi-LASEK, femto-LASIK, LASIK, surgical treatment of glaucoma (SLT, laser treatment for glaucoma, filtering surgeries) and vitreoretinal surgery. The department for conservative retinology holds a special place in the field of conservative ophthalmology. It is intended for diagnostics and treatment of maculopathy, retinal diseases and choroidal. It also carried out the retinal laser surgeries, photodynamic therapy and intravitreal injection. In the foreground of the clinic work and clinical studies in the field of conservative retinology are the issues of age-related macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy.

To adapt to the magnifying optical devices, the Ophthalmological Clinic has an orthoptic office and an outpatient clinic for people with visual impairment. The clinic is certified according to DIN EN ISO 9001:2008 and meets the requirements of the European Council of Ophthalmology.
