Medical Clinic II provides inpatient and outpatient treatment to patients with hematologic/oncologic, gastrointestinal and rheumatological/immunological diseases. In March 2005, it opened a new center for stem cell transplantation. Outpatient chemotherapy, immunotherapy and antibody therapy is carried out during the day in the therapeutic outpatient unit. The clinic also has a special department for care after patients with severe infections. Inpatient and outpatient treatment of patients with psychosomatic diseases is carried out in the newly created day clinic for psychosomatic diseases. Psychosomatic department also provides psychological oncological care to our patients.

The main service directions of medical clinic II are an interdisciplinary diagnostics and treatment of cancer, diagnostics and treatment of hematological diseases, diagnostics and treatment of diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, anus, peritoneum, liver, gallbladder and pancreas, diagnostics and treatment of infectious and parasitic diseases, as well as congenital and acquired immunodeficiency conditions.

About hospital

University Hospital Wurzburg includes 19 departments with outpatient clinics, three independent clinics and four clinical institutions. It also comprises four experimentally-oriented institutes, or departments. The hospital is ranked 8th in the top list of the best medical institutions recommended by FOCUS in 2016.

Each year, approximately 57,000 patients receive qualified treatment in the hospital, and approximately 235,000 patients undergo outpatient treatment. The number of beds is 1430. Almost 40 clinical centers and numerous special consultation offices focus on the interdisciplinary and wide-ranging cooperation in the region.

Along with the University of Wurzburg, the University Hospital is considered one of the largest employers in the region, with more than 6,100 employees.

Patients rooms

The kid rooms have everything needed for a comfortable stay. The kid bathroom includes both a toilet and a shower. All rooms offer functional beds with orthopaedic mattresses ensuring unsurpassed support for overall body during sleep. There are bedside stands with pull-out tables, lockers and safe boxes in each room. It is also possible to access the Internet from a PC, smartphone or tablet so that kids always keep in touch with their parents and other family members. There is also a TV in each room.
You can opt for a single or a double room. An accompanying person may stay with the kid in the room. A double room is shared with another patient.
The enhanced comfort rooms are equipped with a safety box, a fridge and upholstered furniture.

Meals and Menus

The patient and the accompanying person are offered a daily choice of three menus. If you are on a specific diet for any reason, you will be offered an individual menu. Please inform the medical staff about your dietary preferences prior to the treatment.
