About the department
The Department of Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery at the Kesler Clinic Tekirdag offers the widest range of plastic surgical interventions to correct both face and body in order to improve the appearance. The team of the department's competent surgeons specializes in such popular plastic surgical interventions as facelift, rhinoplasty, otoplasty, blepharoplasty, arm lift, thigh lift, breast lift, breast augmentation and reduction, including gynecomastia correction in men, liposuction, abdominoplasty, etc. The Chief Physician of the department is Dr.med. Ercan Demirbag.
The clinical practice involves the successful use of the very latest minimally invasive surgical techniques, which allow the patients to recover as soon as possible after surgery. In addition, such operations exclude a very severe postoperative pain syndrome and leave almost no scars on the patient's body. The department's specialists use innovative computer simulation programs, thanks to which the patients have a unique opportunity to see the result before surgery, as well as, if they wish, to participate in the process of creating their new appearance. The department strictly observes all hygiene and safety standards, while the operations are performed by highly qualified surgeons with extensive clinical experience.
The department's doctors mostly admit patients who want to undergo surgical procedures to eliminate age-related changes. Facelift is one of the most demanded among them. Facelift is an effective rejuvenating procedure that allows eliminating signs of aging, aesthetic skin defects, deformed facial contours and tightening skin, thereby returning the previous attractiveness of the facial features. In most cases, candidates for the surgery are women over the age of 40. Facelift provides excellent results even in the most complex situations, when cosmetic procedures and anti-aging products are no longer effective. The outcome of the operation depends not only on the scope of surgery and the professionalism of the plastic surgeon, but also on a number of factors, including the structure of the patient's skin, genetic characteristics, habits (smoking, alcohol abuse, nutrition) and other aspects. The department performs facelift under general anesthesia with the use of modern minimally invasive techniques. When performing the operation, the surgeon makes small incisions in the ears, after which he dissects the excess fat and skin, thereby forming the ideal facial contours. The average duration of the procedure is 3-5 hours. At the final stage of the operation, the surgeon applies a bandage to the head and face and installs special drainage tubes for fluid outflow. The main advantages of facelift are pronounced and long-term aesthetic results, the absence of sutures, scars and quick recovery after the intervention.
Rhinoplasty (nose reshaping surgery) and blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) are also quite in demand in the department's clinical practice. Rhinoplasty can be performed for both aesthetic and clinical indications. When performing this surgical intervention, the surgeon can correct the tip of the nose, remove the hump, reduce the nasal wings, etc. The department's specialists perform rhinoplasty under both local and general anesthesia. The duration of the operation is about 2 hours. Depending on the specific clinical case, rhinoplasty can be performed using several surgical techniques – open, endoscopic and minimally invasive techniques. The type of technique is determined individually for each patient. Blepharoplasty helps to preserve youth and improve appearance by getting rid of bags under the eyes, the so-called "crow's feet", drooping or sagging eyelid skin, as well as other manifestations of age-related changes in the eyelids. When performing such operations, the department's plastic surgeons use the state-of-the-art technologies, advanced surgical techniques and medical equipment, which increases the safety of the intervention, avoids visible scars and significantly shortens the recovery period.
In addition to facial plastic surgery, the department's team of plastic surgeons also has a perfect command of techniques for restoring an attractive appearance of the body. Such plastic interventions as arm lift, thigh lift and abdominoplasty are performed to remove excess skin (for example, after significant weight loss) and to improve the patient's appearance. Arm and thigh lift procedures can be performed either under local or general anesthesia. The duration of such procedures is about 2 hours. The patient can leave the clinic on the same day after the operation, and 2 days later he can already return to his daily life. Tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) helps to get rid of saggy skin and fat folds in the waist. Depending on the specific clinical situation, the department's specialists can perform both minor and major abdominoplasty. Minor abdominoplasty is indicated for patients with not very significant changes in the abdomen, while a major one is used to correct severe sagging skin and remove large fat folds. Abdominoplasty is performed under general anesthesia and lasts about 2 hours. The intervention consists of 3 main stages – removal of fatty tissues in the anterior and lateral parts of the abdomen, removal of sagging skin and subcutaneous tissue in problem areas, correction of the position of deformed muscles of the anterior abdominal wall, which ensures a flat stomach.
The department's plastic surgeons successfully perform surgery to remove excess fat (liposuction). The aim of the intervention is not to lose weight, but to improve body contours. The department's doctors mostly perform liposuction in the thighs, abdomen and buttocks. The department offers liposuction using minimally invasive techniques, as well as laser liposuction. Whenever possible, the department's surgeons prefer laser technology, since it has a number of advantages – no bleeding, scars, swelling and bruising after the procedure. Moreover, the results of laser liposuction are in no way inferior to the surgical technique.
The priority focus of the department's work is also breast plastic surgery, in particular breast lift, breast augmentation and breast reduction. Breast augmentation procedures are performed both with autologous fat and with the use of modern implants. The choice of the type of intervention depends on the individual patient and her clinical situation. With the help of 3D computer modeling systems, the doctor can select for each patient the ideal breast size that will correspond to the proportions of her body. Since natural beauty is in trend today, the plastic surgeons of the department apply all their experience and professional skills to make a woman's new breasts look beautiful, but at the same time as natural as possible.
The department's range of services is complemented by surgical interventions to correct gynecomastia (benign breast enlargement) in men. Pathology can affect one or both breasts. Before the appointment of the operation, the department's specialists determine the exact cause of the pathology, since the treatment methods are selected individually, in accordance with the cause of the development of the pathology. It is noteworthy that in adolescents, in most cases, the disease disappears without the use of any therapeutic methods. For some patients, hormone therapy is sufficient to normalize the hormonal levels. The department's plastic surgeons perform an operation to treat gynecomastia in men under general anesthesia. As a rule, the duration of the procedure does not exceed 1 hour. After the operation, the patient needs to wear a special corset (for 3-6 weeks).
