The department uses an innovative method – phacoemulsification. The result of the operation is significantly affected by the quality and type of lens, which the doctor will implant instead of the affected lens. The department's specialists prefer the use of intraocular lenses with a special coating and filters. In a number of clinical cases, multifocal/trifocal intraocular lenses can be used.
The department's field of competence also includes glaucoma treatment. The most effective method for glaucoma detection is regular preventive ophthalmic check-ups. The diagnostics involves the use of optical coherence tomography, pachymetry and computerized visual field testing. Vision loss caused by glaucoma is irreversible.
