Location

Phuket is located on the west coast of Thailand in the Andaman Sea. It is one of the southern provinces of Thailand with a rich history. It consists of the island of the same name, the country's largest island, and other 32 smaller islands. For many years, the main source of income for Phuket was the extraction of tin and rubber. In addition, it is located on one of the main trade routes between India and China, so it was often mentioned in the logbooks of Portuguese, French, Dutch and English merchants.

Nowadays the region mainly receives its income from the tourism sector. Since the 1980s, the magnificent sandy beaches of the island have gained immense popularity. Along with the popular beaches of Patong, Karon and Kamala, the main sights also include historical monuments, particularly, the Heroine's Monument and the Thalang National Museum.

It is obvious that the city also has a huge number of beautiful temples. For those who love walking, Phuket offers many green exotic parks. One of the most popular parks in the city is Saphan Hin. It is city park located on the cape of the same name, near the fishing port.
