About the Department of Psychosomatics and Psychotherapy at Specialized Rehabilitation Clinic Jägerwinkel Bad Wiessee
According to the Focus magazine, the Department of Psychosomatics and Psychotherapy at the Specialized Rehabilitation Clinic Jägerwinkel Bad Wiessee ranks among the best medical facilities of this kind in Germany!
The department specializes in providing care to patients with various mental and psychosomatic disorders. The key focus is on treating panic attacks, burnout, depression, stress and nightmares. Prior to prescribing a specific treatment regimen, the department's doctors conduct comprehensive diagnostics, find out about the patient's complaints, and then develop a treatment program that allows achieving a high-quality result. The department is headed by Dr. med. Katharina Grobholz.
The department's specialists have many years of experience in their field of competence, as well as have modern types of psychotherapy that allow them to effectively deal with mental and psychosomatic disorders. The patient's recovery is also facilitated by the calm atmosphere in the department, the unique location of the medical facility, surrounded by the Alps and Lake Tegernsee. Here at the center of all the efforts of the specialists is the patient and his health. The doctors do everything possible for a person to restore mental balance and return to normal life.
When developing tactics for the rehabilitation of a patient with mental and psychological disorders, the doctors of the medical facility always take into account his general physical condition as well. When disorders affecting physical well-being are identified, infusions of vitamins and minerals are often recommended to patients to replenish their deficiency, physiotherapy procedures and other therapeutic methods. An integral part of almost every treatment regimen is behavioral therapy, which allows the patient to gain skills to control their emotions, thinking and, as a result, behavior in situations where there is a potential danger of psychological breakdowns. The effectiveness of behavioral therapy largely depends on the patient's personal interest, since the treatment process requires maximum involvement and strict adherence to the recommendations of the specialist.
The department specializes in psychosomatic care and psychotherapy for the following diseases:
- Post-traumatic stress disorder (for example, after emotional or physical abuse, after suffering cancer)
- Depressive disorders
- Anxiety disorders
- Chronic pain syndromes (headaches, back pain, pelvic pain) – the clinic's own concept of multimodal pain management
- Somatic disorders
- Panic attacks
- Burnout syndrome
- Nightmares
- Other mental and psychosomatic disorders
