Dental implantology is one of the most popular dental procedures in the department. Implantation has a number of advantages over other restoration techniques – it completely restores the function of the tooth, but not only corrects the aesthetic aspect; replaces the root part of the tooth, which provides the crown with reliable support and chewing load to the bone, stimulating its blood supply and nutrition; implants look natural and do not cause any discomfort. In addition, if only 1 or 2 implants are required, there is no need to grind adjacent teeth, as for example, in conventional crowns.

The department practices three types of dental implantation available and recognized in modern dentistry. The first type is called two-stage or classical delayed-loading implantation. The first stage of such implantation includes the placement and complete engraftment of the implants. After that, the doctor puts on them a prosthetic crown of the tooth. The specialists also resort to one-stage implantation with immediate loading, which excludes the stage of bone augmentation (or the procedure is carried out simultaneously with the implant placement). The denture is placed on the 3rd day maximum. If possible, the doctors perform one-stage implantation, which allows them to combine two procedures – the extraction of a living tooth along with the root and the placement of the implant are carried out simultaneously, sometimes the doctor can even immediately place the crown. This method can significantly shorten the treatment time, which will not affect the quality and service life of the implants.

An important condition for successful dental implantation is a sufficient quantity and quality of the jaw bone tissue. If the doctor detects osteoporosis or a deficiency of bone tissue, then a sinus lift is performed (augmentation of the bone tissue of the upper jaw in order to more securely fix the implant). Such a procedure is a full-fledged surgical intervention, and therefore it requires high professionalism of the doctor. In addition, after augmentation, more than 2 months must pass for the complete restoration of bone tissue – only after this stage the doctor can proceed to the implant placement.
