Frankfurt am Main is a beautiful city in central Germany, located on the banks of the Main River. Frankfurt has the status of the financial center of Europe, since the European Central Bank and the Central Bank of the Federal Republic of Germany, as well as many other financial institutions are located here. During the Second World War, the city was almost completely destroyed, so all the historical sights of Frankfurt are high-quality restored replicas.

The first place where guests of the city usually go is Romer Square. It is here that one can enjoy the atmosphere of bygone times and feel the German flavor. The square houses the main symbol of Frankfurt – City Hall. In addition, the decoration of the square is the Fountain of Justice with a statue of the goddess Justice. The architectural ensemble is complemented by beautiful Gothic buildings dating back to the 14th and 15th centuries. In the old days, German Kaisers were crowned on the Romer Square and the most magnificent festivities were held here as well.

Among the religious monuments, Frankfurt Cathedral attracts special attention. Its construction began back in the 13th century. The cathedral strikes with grandeur and beauty from the outside, but the main values are inside – these are Gothic frescoes, stained glass windows, bas-reliefs, paintings by Van Dyck and sculptures of various eras.

Another extremely popular architectural monument in Frankfurt is the building of the Old Opera constructed in the Neo-Renaissance style. The exterior of the building impresses with statues and majestic columns. The opera halls are famous for their impeccable acoustics, so tourists are happy to attend concerts of various musical groups and soloists, which are regular here.

The Museum Embankment, the Old Sachsenhausen, the Hauptwache Square, the Palm Garden and other attractions are especially popular among Frankfurt tourists.

The metropolis will also impress with many shopping centers and exclusive boutiques, gourmet restaurants, cafes and pubs where one can have a good time and enjoy German cuisine.
