The Department of Dermatology, Allergology and Venereology at the Hannover Medical School, headed by Univ.-Professor Dr. med. habil. Alexander Kapp, is one of the biggest centers of this kind in Germany. Main clinical areas of the Department are inflammatory skin diseases (immune dermatology), allergies of skin and mucosa as well as dermato-oncology. Annually, more than 2,800 inpatients and 17,000 outpatients are treated here.
There are the latest medical technologies available at the Hannover Medical School for treatment of allergology diseases, including provocation test in diagnostics of allergic reactions, innovative photomedical methods, laser therapy, etc. Oncological skin diseases are treated within the Skin Cancer Center.
The Department offers medical services for both children (infants) and adults. The inpatient care for small patients with cancer diseases is performed in a close cooperation with relevant medical departments of the Center for Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine.
