About the department
The Department of Urology at the Hirslanden Clinic Permanence Bern offers the full range of diagnostics and treatment of diseases of the kidneys, bladder and urethra, as well as of the prostate and external genital organs in men. The department’s tasks also include preventive medical examinations and urological consultations on various issues. The Chief Physician of the department is Dr. med. Joseph Arnold Eigenmann.
An important role in clinical practice is given to the treatment of kidney, bladder and prostate cancers. The department has excellent infrastructure, modern operating rooms with the innovative da Vinci robotic system, which, in combination with the unique clinical experience of urologists, creates all the conditions for achieving an optimal therapeutic result.

Patients rooms
The patients of the the Hirslanden Clinic Permanence Bern live in cozy and comfortable rooms designed in bright colors. Each patient room has an ensuite bathroom with shower and toilet. The standard room furnishing includes an automatically adjustable bed, a bedside table, a wardrobe for storing personal belongings, a table and chairs for receiving visitors, a TV, a telephone. If desired, Wi-Fi can be connected. The clinic also offers accommodation in enhanced-comfort rooms, which additionally have a safe, a refrigerator and upholstered furniture.
Meals and Menus
The patient and the accompanying person are offered a daily choice of three menus. If you are on a specific diet for any reason, you will be offered an individual menu. Please inform the medical staff about your dietary preferences prior to the treatment.
