Lassnitzhoehe Clinic Graz

The Lassnitzhoehe Clinic Graz is a highly specialized rehabilitation medical facility of SANLAS Holding GmbH. The key areas of competence of the medical complex cover neurological and orthopedic rehabilitation. The clinical practice is based on the use of modern developments in the field of rehabilitation medicine. Combined with exceptional qualifications and skills of the medical personnel, as well as with excellent technical resources, this ensures a successful result. The clinic has 330 beds for the hospitalization of patients.

The clinic includes the Department of Neurological Rehabilitation, which specializes in restoring the functions of the nervous system. The doctors in this field deal with the treatment of patients with strokes, Parkinson's disease, neuropathies, traumatic brain injuries, spinal injuries and diseases, as well as lesions of the peripheral nervous system. The duration of a standard neurological rehabilitation program is 4 weeks, but depending on the specific clinical indications, a longer course may be required.

The medical team of the Department of Orthopedic Rehabilitation is responsible for restoring the functions of the musculoskeletal system. As a rule, it admits patients with diseases and injuries of the spine and joints. The main goal of rehabilitation is to reduce pain and improve motor functions, strengthen muscles and refuse walking aids (for example, a cane, crutches). In most cases, the duration of orthopedic rehabilitation is 3 weeks.

Special attention should be given to the technical equipment of the clinic. A unique device is the modern G-EO robotic simulator, which simulates the human movements to restore the skills of walking on a flat surface and when climbing stairs. In addition, the clinic has treadmills with the function of maintaining balance, modern walking video analyzers, Motomed, Motoletto, Ergometer, Galileo and a table for stretching limbs. The restoration of the functions of the upper extremities involves the use of such ergotherapy devices as Bi Manu Track, Pablo, Amadeo, Tymo and a computer-controlled device for shoulder training. The restoration of the upper extremities takes place in a special robotic studio Armstudio, which has such advanced simulators as AMADEO, DIEGO, PABLO, TYMO, etc. All devices work in an interactive mode – the patient is offered a virtual environment on the monitor screen, which helps to purposefully perform specific tasks.

The clinic has a strict quality management system that has passed ISO 9001:2015 certification. The patient can be sure that he will receive the top-class rehabilitation treatment, sensitive care and a humane attitude.

About the city

Graz is an amazing city in the south-eastern part of Austria, spread on the banks of the River Mur. Graz is famous for its cultural traditions and wonderful architecture, which range from baroque palaces to innovative modern constructions. It is worth noting that the city is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, so it can certainly offer many amazing sights.

In the central part of Graz one can see the Mount Schlossberg (473 m), where from the 11th century until 1805 a fortress was located. The city got its name in honor of this fortress. To this day, only a clock tower has been preserved from the fortress. One can climb the mountain along the equipped hiking trails or on the funicular. In the western part of Graz, in a picturesque park, one can find Eggenberg Palace, which construction dates back to 1625. The palace houses the Alte Galerie, which presents paintings and sculptures from the Roman period to the late Baroque. Also, it is worth visiting the beautiful Graz Cathedral.

The greatest architectural masterpiece of Graz is the building of the City Hall in the classicism style dating back to 1803. After admiring the impeccable beauty of the City Hall, one should definitely visit the market located next to it, which sells popular national products and interesting souvenirs. On national holidays, the square in front of the City Hall hosts interesting entertaining events, while on Christmas Eve there is a chic fair.

As for the city's museums, special attention should be given to the Kunsthaus Museum and the Arnold Schwarzenegger Museum. The Kunsthaus Museum was opened in 2003 and is located in the original futuristic building, which resembles a whale with its outlines. Since its inception, the museum has held only temporary exhibitions. It does not have its own permanent exhibition. The exhibits of the second museum are dedicated to the world famous actor and athlete Arnold Schwarzenegger. The museum is in the very house where he spent his childhood.

In addition, Graz has long been a city of students. It has four universities, in which more than 50 thousand students study. In 2003, Graz was awarded the status of the cultural capital of Europe.
