The Department of Adult and Pediatric Ophthalmology at the Medipol Mega University Hospital Istanbul offers all the options of modern medicine for the accurate diagnostics, conservative and surgical treatment of diseases of the eye and its appendages. The department's doctors keep pace with medical innovations, and therefore they have in their arsenal all relevant treatment methods, which allow the doctors to restore the patient's vision even in the most difficult clinical cases. The visual impairments in children are treated by a specialized team of qualified experts. The department is headed by Prof. Dr. med. Cengiz Aras.
Particular focus is on the treatment of cataracts, retinal and corneal diseases, including corneal transplantation. In addition, the department is proud of the outstanding results in oculoplastic surgeries, including operations on the orbit, eyelids and lacrimal canals.
To make an accurate diagnosis and determine the treatment strategy, the department carries out the very latest diagnostic methods, including optical coherence tomography, ultrasound biomicroscopy, ophthalmoscopy, laser Doppler flowmetry, electroretinography, etc.
The department's therapeutic options include drug therapy (prescription of antiviral drugs, antiallergic therapy), laser treatment, surgical treatment and physiotherapy (as an additional method).
