About the department
The Department of Plastic, Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery at the Okan University Hospital Istanbul provides the full range of surgical interventions in the areas of its specialization. The team of the department's plastic surgeons admits both patients who want to change their appearance at their own wish and patients who need reconstructive surgery for improvement of their appearance after injuries, burns, surgical procedures, as well as congenital deformities. The list of the most demanded operations includes breast plastic surgery, rhinoplasty (nose reshaping) and liposuction. The Chief Physician of the department is Prof. Dr. med. Aydın Gözü.
The decision to perform one or another intervention is made on an individual basis for each patient after acquaintance with his complaints and wishes, as well as after a thorough study of the anamnesis and the comprehensive diagnostics. The surgical procedures are performed in high-tech operating rooms, with strict adherence to clinical protocols and hygiene standards. The operations are performed only by competent and experienced plastic surgeons, who guarantee the safe performance of surgery with the best results.
To achieve an optimal aesthetic appearance of the operated facial or body area, the intervention is preceded by 3D modelling of this area. This approach allows the patient to see and assess the expected result of the upcoming operation even before it, while the surgeon can express his wishes and give recommendations based on the obtained volumetric model. In addition, the 3D modeling technique allows the specialist to achieve the optimal combination of the planned result with the patient's natural look.
