Herr Professor Müller-Tidow ist der Direktor der Universitätsklinik und Poliklinik für Innere Medizin IV. Gleichzeitig ist er der Leiter des Landeszentrums für Zell- und Gentherapie Sachsen-Anhalt (LZG). Er ist Facharzt für Innere Medizin mit dem Schwerpunkt Hämatologie und Internistische Onkologie.

Department of Hematology and Oncology at the University Hospital of Halle (Saale) has many years of experience in diagnostics and treatment of hematological and oncological diseases. It completely covers the whole range of hematology and oncology. This includes prevention, diagnostics, therapy and post-operative care for cancer of any organs and blood. A particular success was reached by the department in treatment and study of leukemia and lymphomas, tumors of the gastrointestinal tract, neuroendocrine neoplasms, brain tumors, sarcomas of cell tumors and supportive measures (maintenance therapy). As regards bone marrow and stem cell transplantation, the clinic is the largest center in Saxony-Anhalt.

The patients are provided the most cutting-edge diagnostics and therapy at the highest level. This department cooperates closely and effectively with the rest of the professional departments of the university clinic. Participation in clinical trials opens up innovative treatment options for many patients. The department has a good national and international reputation in the field of diagnostics and treatment of intestinal tumors, leukemia, lymphomas, germ cell tumors, myeloma, sarcoma, and stem cell transplantation. According to the latest list of clinics compiled by FOCUS, the University Clinic and Therapeutic Department IV are highly recommended due to a remarkable success in treatment of colon cancer.
