Urologic oncology is the main direction in the work of our clinic. Besides tumor surgery with preservation of organs and functions, the clinic provides medical treatment of tumors, including the intravasal chemotherapy for progressive cancer. We acquired particularly rich experience in the area of substitution of the bladder continents with the so-called artificial bladder created from the small intestine. This surgery technique was invented in Urological University Clinic by Prof. Mr. Hautmann and gained universal acceptance. It is improved continuously and forms a continuation of a series of the most important techniques for such surgeries. Besides artificial bladder, the clinic introduces all kinds of urination aids, for both men and women. For surgeries on prostate cancer with preservation of functions, the clinic offers, besides open surgeries, the ability to conduct surgeries using the minimally invasive robotic technology with daVinci SI. In its own center for prostate cancer certified by the German Cancer Society, the clinic determines the optimal treatment plan for patients with prostate cancer at any stage of the disease at regular interdisciplinary meetings with oncologists, radiotherapists, radiologists and pathologists.
Another major direction of the clinic is a pediatric urology. The Head of the Department, Prof. Mrs. Ebert has a wealth of experience and offers a full range of services for diagnostics and treatment of pediatric urology, including the complex surgeries for urogenital anomalies.
