The main direction of the Clinic of Internal Medicine III at Ulm University Clinic is the care for patients with benign and malignant tumors of the blood and lymphatic system (including anemia, lymphadenopathy, acute and chronic leukemia, myelodysplastic syndrome, myeloproliferative disorders, Hodgkin/non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, multiple myeloma, aplastic anemia), as well as solid tumors of organs (including bronchial carcinoma, renal cell carcinoma, breast cancer, glioblastoma, sarcoma, testicular cancer). The range of treatments covers all forms of modern oncological treatment (conventional chemotherapy, treatment with monoclonal antibodies, molecular targeted therapy with new drugs). Ulm Transplantation Department is one of the oldest in the world. For over 30 years, it conducts the bone marrow transplantation and blood stem cells.

In terms of Hematology, Oncology and Palliative Medicine, the Clinic of Internal Medicine III is a part of CCCU (Comprehensive Cancer Center Ulm), holding one of 13 awards in Germany from the German Cancer Center and is a leading cancer center; besides, CCCU, as the Cancer Center, is certified according to the criteria of the German Cancer Society. The health status of all patients is discussed at interdisciplinary conferences on tumors. The treatment plans meet all latest national and international standards and include, but not limited to, the conventional chemotherapy, immunotherapy with antibodies and innovative therapy with inhibitors of signal paths and cell cycle. We also maintain close cooperation with the network of private hematologists/oncologists and specialists of the nearby clinics. The department of allogeneic transplantation of blood stem cells and the spinal cord was established in 1978 and belongs to one of the oldest in the world. Nowadays, the department offers various options for allogeneic transplantation of blood stem cells (family donor, unrelated donor, haploidentical donors, umbilical cord blood). In 2012, it carried out 77 transplantations of allogeneic and 92 autologous transplantation of stem cells. The department is certified to carry out the transplantation of autologous and allogeneic stem cells and is certified as a center for taking of peripheral stem cells and spinal cord sampling according to JACIE (Joint Accreditation Committee-ISCT [Europe] & EBMT) standards.

The kid rooms have everything needed for a comfortable stay. The kid bathroom includes both a toilet and a shower. All rooms offer functional beds with orthopaedic mattresses ensuring unsurpassed support for overall body during sleep. There are bedside stands with pull-out tables, lockers and safe boxes in each room. It is also possible to access the Internet from a PC, smartphone or tablet so that kids always keep in touch with their parents and other family members. There is also a TV in each room.
You can opt for a single or a double room. An accompanying person may stay with the kid in the room. A double room is shared with another patient.
The enhanced comfort rooms are equipped with a safety box, a fridge and upholstered furniture.
