The Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care at the University Orthopedic Hospital Hannover-Annastift MHH offers comprehensive patient care before, during and after surgery. The department is headed by PD Dr. med. Michael Przemeck.
A highly qualified medical team, consisting of 17 specialized doctors and 30 nurses, provides effective analgesia, pain therapy, as well as intensive therapy after surgical interventions. The department annually conducts about 5,500 anesthesia procedures, approximately 800 of which are provided on an outpatient basis.
Naturally, all methods of modern anesthesia are available in the department. Nursing staff regularly undergoes special training in anesthesiology and intensive care, which provides patients with impeccable care.
The priority clinical focuses of the department also include the provision of postoperative pain therapy. In most cases, painkillers are administered into the patient's body through a special electronic pump, which they can control themselves. Also, painkillers are administered by experienced nurses (twice a day).
