The Department of Radiology and Neuroradiology is a central department in the Alfried Krupp Hospital. In the field of diagnostics, special emphasis is paid on MRI of the heart (cardiac MRI) and of the various joints, e.g. the knee or the shoulder (MRI arthrography).

In addition, all invasive-diagnostic measures such as angiography, myelography , or the CAT- and ultrasound-guided collection of tissue samples are standard procedures performed here. The range of treatment also includes superficial vascular malformation, acute strokes and vertebroplasty.

Another focal point of the Department of Radiology is the treatment of patients with various pulmonary vascular diseases, e.g. hemoptysis (coughing up blood) or congenital vascular malformations (Osler's disease).

  • Diagnostic radiology and neuroradiology: all imaging procedures including CT, MRT, angiography, projection radiology, myelography and mammography
  • Endovascular treatment of brain aneurysms, cerebral and spinal vascular malformation, e.g. arteriovenous malformation and dural fistulas
  • Removal of stenosis from the brain-supplying arteries (stent implantation and angioplasties)
  • Brain vessel recanalization
  • Interventional treatment of soft tissue angiomas
  • Interventional treatment of pulmonary vessel diseases and malformations
  • Image-guided punctures of masses and periarticular therapy
  • Angioplasty (PTA): renal arteries, pelvis-leg arteries.

Patients rooms

The kid rooms have everything needed for a comfortable stay. The kid bathroom includes both a toilet and a shower. All rooms offer functional beds with orthopaedic mattresses ensuring unsurpassed support for overall body during sleep. There are bedside stands with pull-out tables, lockers and safe boxes in each room. It is also possible to access the Internet from a PC, smartphone or tablet so that kids always keep in touch with their parents and other family members. There is also a TV in each room.
You can opt for a single or a double room. An accompanying person may stay with the kid in the room. A double room is shared with another patient.
The enhanced comfort rooms are equipped with a safety box, a fridge and upholstered furniture.

Meals and Menus

The patient and the accompanying person are offered a daily choice of three menus. If you are on a specific diet for any reason, you will be offered an individual menu. Please inform the medical staff about your dietary preferences prior to the treatment.
