About the department
The Department of Ophthalmology at the Hirslanden Clinic La Colline Geneva offers a wide range of services for patients with diseases of the eye and its appendages. The special areas of specialization include the treatment of cataract, glaucoma and strabismus. The department is headed by PD Dr. med. Guy Donati.
To make an accurate diagnosis, the doctors have at their disposal state-of-the-art equipment, for example, devices for optical coherence tomography, angiography, corneal topography, optical biometry, eye ultrasound, pachymetry, etc. The department also uses innovative laser systems for vision correction.
The department also performs corneal transplantation and lens replacement surgery. The surgical interventions are performed in progressive operating rooms using laser devices and microsurgical techniques. Also, the ophthalmologists of the department specialize in performing operations on the lacrimal canal (in close cooperation with otolaryngologists).

The patients of the the Hirslanden Clinic La Colline Geneva live in comfortable rooms made in light colors and modern design. Each patient room has an ensuite bathroom with shower and toilet. The standard patient room includes an automatically adjustable bed with a comfortable orthopedic mattress, a bedside table, a wardrobe, a table and chairs for receiving visitors, a TV. If desired, one can connect to Wi-Fi. The clinic also provides enhanced-comfort rooms with a safe, a refrigerator and upholstered furniture.
Meals and Menus
The patient and the accompanying person are offered a daily choice of three menus. If you are on a specific diet for any reason, you will be offered an individual menu. Please inform the medical staff about your dietary preferences prior to the treatment.
