The Department of Gynecology, Mammology and Obstetrics at the Hospital Neuwerk Moenchengladbach provides the highly accurate diagnostics and comprehensive treatment of the entire range of gynecologic diseases, while particularly focusing on gynecologic oncology. The department has earned the status of one of the leading local medical facilities in the treatment of malignant gynecologic pathologies. The specialization also includes the treatment of breast diseases. The tasks of the department's medical team cover pregnancy management, including high-risk pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum care. The department is headed by Dr. med. Ralf Dürselen. The doctor is a recognized specialist in urogynecology, as well as minimally invasive surgery (more than 85% of all interventions are performed endoscopically). In addition, he has long experience in obstetrics, thanks to which, in cooperation with his colleagues, he provides top-class obstetric services.
The department's gynecologists have successful experience in the treatment of malignant neoplasms of the female reproductive organs, urinary incontinence and pelvic prolapse, benign and malignant breast diseases, as well as endometriosis and uterine fibroids. In addition to inpatient treatment, the department provides outpatient counselling. The outpatient services include hysteroscopy, early abortion, local interventions in the labia and vagina, outpatient chemotherapy, outpatient surgeries, etc.
The department's obstetricians monitor the course of pregnancy and offer various options for a safe childbirth. A competent team of experienced obstetricians, anesthetists and pediatricians is available in the department 24 hours a day. Depending on the clinical indications, the childbirth can be natural or via C-section. The patient rooms of the Hospital Neuwerk Moenchengladbach are equipped in accordance with German standards. The patient room includes a shower and a toilet. The beds are equipped with comfortable orthopedic mattresses. The bedside table can be easily turned into a table. The room also includes a table and chairs for receiving visitors.
